ZWEIG, Arnold (1887-1968). German novelist. His war novel “The Case of Sergeant Grischa” (1927) was an International success. His other works deal with Jewish topics. Exiled from Germany by the Nazi’s he lived in Palestine from 1933. In 1957 he was appointed President of the E. Berlin Academy of Arts. The USSR awarded him the Lenin Peace Prize (1958).
