Recipient Of The Medal of Honor

YORK, Sergeant Alvin  (1887-1964).  Sharpshooter who shot accurately at ranges 200, 300 and 500 yards. He struggled with the moral issue of killing humans.  In the fall of 1918 he killed 25 Germans and knocked out 35 machine guns and captured 132 enemies making them prisoners almost single handed. He is the recipient of the Medal of Honor. His book: “Sergeant York: His Own Life Story and War Diary”. Edited by Tom Skeyhill. Garden City, Double day, Doran, 1928, First Edition. Illustrated, three hundred-nine pages.  On the front free endpaper, Alvin York and the editor have signed their names. V/G-Fine condition
