The Ultra Scarce/Rare Signature of Minoru Yamasaki + Bonus
YAMASAKI, Minoru (1916-1986). Great world club architect. Creator of the New York World Trade Center. He studied more than 100 models before adopting the twin tower plan. Tower #1 completed in 1972 and Tower #2 completed in 1973. He built the two 110 story buildings but lost 400 million dollars in the construction. He was head of Minoru Yamasaki Associates. The twin towers were destroyed by terrorists on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. Both towers were hit by airplanes. This was the worst attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor. On unlined 3”x5” card the architect has written: “To Richard F. Dearmeyer with best wishes Minoru Yamasaki.” In very fine condition. Together with the signature comes a chunk of Tower #1 obtained on Sept. 14, 2011. Measures appx. 2.5”x5”................SOLD
