Very RARE Combination of Signatures
WISE, Jack (1888-1954). American actor best known for his part in Smashing the Money Ring (1939) with Ronald Reagan. He appeared in numerous films including, Lawful Cheater (1925) he played the part of Graveyard Lazardi, There He Goes (1928), Knute Rockne All American (1940), and in Casablanca (1942) Jack Wise played the part of the waiter.
Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942), House of Wax (1953), Phantom of the Rue Morgue (1954) and many, many more.
BOW, Clara (1905-1965) Silent film star of the 20’s known as ‘The It Girl.” She was very successful in her transition to the talkies, making global fame. Most likely best remembered for her part in Wings (1927). Very rare photograph, 8”x9.5” of Bow and Wise. Three quarter length pose of Bow clutching Wise’s arm. Wise has written: “To Dr. Donald Cass. With Best Wishes Sincerely Jack Wise 5/18/49. Clara Bow and I in her first staring silent picture Lawful Cheater.”
Signed “Clara Bow” across her heavy coat. Lawful Cheater was a silent crime drama where Bow dressed as a boy tries to persuade a gang of crooks to reform. Simple signatures of Jack Wise are nearly impossible to find. An important signed photograph in very good condition......................$1250.00
