WISE, Jack (1888-1954). American actor best known for his part in Smashing the Money Ring (1939) with Ronald Reagan. He appeared in numerous films including, Lawful Cheater (1925) he played the part of Graveyard Lazardi, There He Goes (1928), Knute Rockne All American (1940), and in Casablanca (1942) Jack Wise played the part of the waiter.
Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942), House of Wax (1953), Phantom of the Rue Morgue (1954) and many, many more. Rare photograph, B&W, 8”x10” of 16 actors of the silent screen. Marie Prevost, Chester Conklin and Ben Turpin are just a few sitting in the front row. Jack Wise is standing in the back row. Inscribed and signed along the top margin: ‘To my old friend Dr. Donald Cass Best Wishes Sincerely, Jack Wise, Hollywood, Cal, Mar. 8,49.”
