WILLARD, Frances E.  (1839-1898).  American reformer; devoted her life to the Temperance Movement.  Helped organize the Prohibition Party (1892). Early autograph letter signed, one page, as President of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. Written on their ornate letterhead, Illinois, Jan.25,1879. To Dear Sister.”  In part: “One good turn deserves another, and if you and your friends will spend a little time in house-to-house circulation of the enclosed  Petitions, WE temperance women will cordially reciprocate the favor…..Yours for a more Christiaan Republic, Frances E.
