First President of the United States
WASHINGTON, George (1732-1799) 1st President of the United States (1789-1797). Commander in Chief of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. One of the Founding fathers of the United States. Partly printed document signed, dated 3 November 1783. Countersigned by J. Trumball, Jr. (1740-1809) as General Secretary. Discharge paper from the American Army for Philip Echorn, Soldier. As these papers were folded, many of these discharge papers are in poor condition. This example has some paper loss in the folds and around the blank edges. Repaired, strengthened with archival tape on verso. Signature somewhat lighter in a few letters but all readable. Would look quite acceptable framed. Continental Army discharge papers signed by George Washington are some of the most highly prized documents from the Revolutionary War. ................SOLD
