Rare signature of Sasha Votichenko
VOTICENKO, Sasha ( -1996). Russian born composer, musician who collected and exhibited a unique collection of items, replicas of the Imperial and Royal Courts of Europe. He performed in concert on the Royal Tympanon, a keyless instrument which was predecessor to the harpsicord. His instrument was the only one of its kind in the world. It was made in 1705 by Pantaloon Hebebstreit. Postcard (circa 1917) of his royal collection in his New York City apartment.
