America’s 2nd Ranking Air Service Ace to Survive the War VAUGHN, George A.  (1897-1989) American Ace in WW1, flew with the84th Squadron, RAF. Credited with 6 victories and 1 balloon. Transferred to the 17th.Squadron U.S. Air service in August 1918 and credited with 6 more victories.
