Founder of the Air Force Academy TALBOT, Harold E.  (1888-1957)  Appointed 3rd Secretary of the Air Force under President Eisenhower.   He appointed a commission in selecting a permanent site for the Air Force Academy.  Founder of the Air Force Academy.  Typed letter signed, dated December 31, 1952, referring to congratulations on his appointment as Secretary of the Air Force. He continues: “Heavy responsibilities and burdens go with this appointment....” Anything hand signed by Talbot can be considered rather uncommon.  In excellent condition......................$85.00
