Scarce A.L.S. Of Helen Taft with wonderful content
TAFT, Helen (1861-1943). First Lady of the United States (1909-1913). The First Lady suffered a stroke which impaired her speech and the use of her right arm and leg. Most letters from Mrs. Taft were signed by her but the content written by her daughter. Scarce autograph note signed on a 2”5”x4’5” card. Helen Taft writes: “My Dear Mrs. Deane, Mr. Taft had a bookplate, which he put in many of his books, but moving around so much, it got lost, and he did not have another one made. Sincerely yours, Helen H. Taft November 14th.” Nice book collecting related. In excellent condition................................$275.00
