TAFT, William (1857-1930) The 27th President of the United States (1909-1913). Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Typed letter signed on the imprinted stationery of the Supreme Court of the United States. June 2, 1929 to Mr. George M. Nelson, Taft writes: “My Secretary, Mr. Mischler, secured the signatures of the members of the Court to the picture which you forwarded to me. The only member of the Court who is absent is Mr. Justice McReynolds, who was not able to be present...” Currently, Taft was Chief Justice for eight years and still willing to arrange for signed photographs of the Court. Signed with a large, bold, black ink signature of Taft. In fine condition..........$495.00
