STERNER, Albert (1863-1946). American painter, major listed artist. Studied at Julians Academie & Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris. He opened his studio in New York (1885). Winner of many medals in Paris, Buffalo, Munich, etc. Represented in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, N.Y. Public Library, Carnegie Institute, Yale University Library, Victoria & Albert Museum, London, Royal Collection, King of Italy, Royal Print Collection in Munich, Library of Congress, etc. Original pencil sketch of a dog lying down. Overall measurement 6.5”x9”. Signed by Albert Sterner, in full just below the dog’s paw. A pencil number 20 is written in the bottom left corner. In near fine condition.
