Minister of Armaments under Hitler and Donitz
SPEER, Albert (1905-1981). Minister of Armaments and War Production for the Third Reich under Hitler and Donitz (1942-May 23, 1945). Hitler’s architect. Speer was tried at Nuremberg and sentenced to prison for 20 years. He served his full sentence most of it at Spandau Prison. Uncommon autograph letter signed on his name imprinted letterhead. Heidelberg, 24.VI.72. To a collector in Virginia regarding an invitation for the collector to come to Speer’s home in a few months. Speer tells the collector of his recent plans of going to a birthday party and the dates he will be available. Speer gives his telephone number and asks the collector to call him. Speer asks the collector if he’s coming alone but call in any case if he ends up coming in January. Handwritten letters by Albert Speer are uncommon and very much more so with a full signature. Together with the original envelope hand addressed envelope and a six page pamphlet regarding the International Military Tribunal held at the Nuremberg War-Crimes Trial. The pamphlet lists all the participants in the trial along with their biographies and much more..........$350.00
