SPEAKS, Oley (1874-1948). Composer and songwriter, baritone singer in churches. Of his 200 songs he may be best known for “Sylvia” and “The Road to Mandaly.” “Sylvia” (1914) was a million selling success. Robert Merrill and John McCormick also recorded “Sylvia”.
