SHARP, Jacob Hunter (1833-1907). Confederate General. A lawyer, he enlisted in the 1st Battalion Mississippi Infantry in 1861. As a Colonel he led the 44th at Chickamauga and Chattanooga. He was promoted to Brigadier General in July 1864. He led his brigade in the Tennessee and Carolina campaigns. After the war he practiced law, purchased a newspaper and served in the Mississippi legislature. Card signed in pencil adding: “Miss. Brig. Gen. C.S.A.”................... SOLD |
