SHARETT, Moshe (1894-1965). Also known as Moshe Shertok. He was actually the last of the 25 signers of the Proclamation at the May 14 ceremonies. He created Israeli’s Foreign Service. A linguist proficient in Hebrew, Yiddish, Russian, Arabic, Turkish, German and French. One of Ben-Gurion’s most intimate associates. Israel’s second Prime Minister.
