Bozo the Clown and the First Ronald McDonald
SCOTT, Willard (1934- ) American entertainer who was “Bozo the Clown” (1959-1962). He was invited to The White House by President Kennedy and he entertained Caroline Kennedy during her White House Birthday Party. Scott also played Santa Claus at various White House Christmas events. He created and was the original portrayer of the clown Ronald McDonald ((1963-1971). For years he was the weatherman on the “Today Show.” His first book: “The Joy of Living”, Coward, McCann & Geoghegan, New York, 1982, First Edition. Two hundred twenty-two pages with illustrations. Nice illustration of Scott as “Bozo” and another as “Ronald McDonald”. On the front free end-paper Scott has written: “Love, Willard Scott, Oct. 2, 1982.” In V/G condition.
