SARG, Tony (Anthony Frederick) (1882-1942) Officer in the German Army until 1905. Began as an illustrator and moved to the U.S. in 1915. Illustrator of humorous stories for the Saturday Evening Post, Red Book, Collier’s and Cosmopolitan. He is the creator of Tony Sarg’s Marionettes. Creator of the Monster Balloon parades held all over the country. Author of over a dozen children’s alphabet, and animal trick books. Original watercolor in color of a giraffe, appx. 7.25”x11”. Boldly signed. Would frame well. Very uncommon in original art and this is an excellent example. SOLD
