THEIR IMPERIAL HIGHNESSES GRAND DUKE VLADIMIR KIRILLOVITCH ROMANOV OF RUSSIA (1917-1992). GRAND DUCHESS LEONIDE BAGRATION-MOUKHRANSKY (1914-2010). Vladimir Kirillovitch Romanov was born in Finland after the 1917 Russian Revolution. The Grand Duke’s father was Grand Prince Kyrill Vladmirovich Romanov, 4th in line to the throne when the family fled Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution. When the Bolsheviks executed Czar Nicholas II, Kyrill proclaimed himself Czar. The Grand Duke became Czar and head of the Imperial House of Russia in 1938 until his death. The Grand Duke lived his life wandering among the titled Royal families of Europe. Heir to the Romanov Dynasty in Russia, the Grand Duke lived in exile in France, Germany and Hungary for most of the second world war. He died in Miami after he collapsed at a news conference. He is the first member of the Romanov family to be buried in the St. Peter and Paul Fortress Mausoleum in St. Petersburg, Russia. GRAND DUCHESS LEONIDE BAGRATION-MOUKHRANSKY (1914-2010). Married the Grand Duke in 1948. In 1953 they had one daughter Maria, current curatix of the Russian Throne. Russian postcard depicting portraits of both The Grand Duke & Grand Duchess side by side, head & shoulders pose. Signed by both on the dark area of their jackets. Biographical info of both on verso by a former collector who indicates this was obtained on June 10, 1972.
