Invented the Yield Sign
RIGGS, Clinton E. (1910-1997). State Trooper with the Tulsa Highway Patrol. In 1939, he conceived a road sign that would regulate traffic. He developed the keystone shaped yellow and black signed named “Yield Sign.” Requests came in from around the nation to use this sign. Three by five-inch card signed “Clinton E. Riggs the inventor.” To the left he has drawn, in color, an original sketch of the sign. Signed in full, once again on the verso. This is the very first of Clinton’s signature we have handled that incorporates an original drawing of his invention. V/F condition................$75.00
