REMSEN, Ira (1846-1927). American chemist; conducted investigations both organic and inorganic chemistry. President of Johns Hopkins (1901-12). Founded American Chemical Journal and author of many text books. T.L.S., on the imprinted stationery of Johns Hopkins University, President, two pages, first and third leaf, 12/17/01.
