The Noted Gun Manufacturer REMINGTON, Eliphalet (1828-1924). Noted gun manufacturer. Co-owner of E. Remington and Sons. Eliphalet was instrumental in the management and growth of the company. The guns were known for their accuracy and they made a significant contribution to America’s 19th century history. Remington supplied the U.S. Army with rifles in the Mexican-American War (1846-48). They also supplied a large portion of the small arms used by the U.S. Government in the Civil War (1861-65). Remington guns was one of the standard guns used in what has been called “The Winning of the West.” Fine signature “E. Remington” on a slip.
