RAHMAN, Tunku Abdul (1903-1990). First Prime Minister of Malaysia, Called “The Founding Father of Malaysia” and “The Father of Independence.” Malaysia gained Independence from Britain in 1957 without bloodshed. He signed Malaysia’s Declaration of Independence. He was often called “Tunku” (a Malaysian Royal Family). His book Viewpoints, Heinmann Educational Books, Kuala Lumpur. Singapore, 1978 First Edition. Two hundred thirty-nine pages with illustrations. On the front free endpaper Rahman has inscribed, signed and dated: “ Mr. John Watson, Best Compliments A.
