PRINCESS VICTORIA (Victoria Olga Mary) (July 6, 1868 - Dec.3, 1935). She was known as “Toria” and was the fourth child and second daughter of Edward VII and the younger sister of George V. She was born at Marlborough House, London. Her father was Prince Albert Edward (later King Edward VII), the eldest son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Her mother was Alexandra, Princess of Wales, the daughter of King Christian IX of Denmark, One of her godparents were her paternal grandmother Queen Victoria (for whom the Duchess of Cambridge stood proxy). Victoria along with her sisters was a bridesmaid at the 1885 wedding of Queen Victoria’s youngest daughter Princess Beatrice to prince Henry of Battenberg. She was a bridesmaid at the wedding of the Duke & Duchess of York (future George V and Queen Mary) on July 6, 1893. Princess Victoria is said to be a great beauty and was the epitome of the beautiful Edwardian lady. She was one of the most beautiful woman of her age. She never married as her mother believed to have actively discouraged her from marrying. After the death of Alexandra in 1925, Victoria moved to Iver in Buckinghamshire and took an interest in village life, She became honorary president of the Iver Horticultural Society. Victoria died at home and her funeral took place at St. George Chapel, Windsor Castle where she was buried. Rare, original drawing, in pencil, 4”x6” on an album page of flowers.
