THE PEACEMAKERS

Jimmy Carter (1924- ) Menachem Begin (1913-1992) Anwar Sadat (1918-1981)

All three world leaders entered into negotiations and signed the historic Camp David Accord which resulted in the 1979 Egypt-Israeli Peace Treaty. Both Sadat and Begin received the 1978 Noble Peace Prize.  This treaty enabled Egypt to regain the Sinai Peninsula. Sadat was assassinated by Islamic fundamentalists while reviewing a military parade.  Three choice signatures, one large “J. Carter” on a slip, “M. Begin” on a bookplate and “A.Sadat” in Arabic and once again in English on a U.S. Search For Peace postage stamp. Nicely matted with a photo, 8”x10” of the three world leaders outside The White House clasping their hands in friendship. Together with a copy of a letter on the Arab Republic of Egypt letterhead dated Cairo 14.9.1980 sending a collector in Rhode Island the autographed stamps by Sadat. In addition, included is a copy of the four stamps that Sadat signed.  Ready for framing.
