Creator of the Playboy Bunny
PAUL, Art (1925-2018) American graphic designer, illustrator, writer, and composer. Founding art director of Playboy Magazine. As art director he supervised the design of the magazine for 30 years. “Playboy” magazine founder Hugh Hefner, who originally was going to name his magazine “Stag Party” with a stag as its logo, and was told it was a bad idea, was persuaded to use a rabbit instead as they are more frisky and playful. Paul designed the first issue of “Playboy” and used the rabbit for the logo. Very scarce full signature of Art Paul on a green 3”x5” card. He has drawn what was to be the original logo of a “stag” for the “Playboy” magazine. This is the first of this kind we have seen.........$495.00
