Eight Victories With The Lafayette Escadrille
PARSONS, Edwin C. (1892-1968). Rear Admiral in the United States Navy. Former French Foreign Legionnaire flying Ace, F.B.I. Special Agent and author. From 1913-1915 he flew and trained the Mexican Army’s Aviation Corps. At the beginning of WWI Parsons was already an experienced combat pilot. In 1917 he flew with the Lafayette Escadrille and had eight confirmed victories. He was a Special Agent with the F.B.I. (1920-1923) and later opened his own private detective agency. Parsons was hired by Paramount as a consultant to work on the Oscar winning film “Wings” (1927). Later he worked with the Howard Hughes epic “Hells Angels” (1930.”
