PAGET, Sir James (1814-1899) English physician, surgeon. One of the founders of Scientific Medical Pathology. He may be best known for Paget’s Disease. In 1834 he discovered in human muscle the parasitic worm that causes trichinosis. President (1875) of the Royal College of Surgeons. Choice signature writing his last name on a slip.
