Highest Scoring U-Boat Commander KRETCHNER, Otto  (1912-1998). U-Boat commander, he sunk over 273 thousand tons which made him the top scoring U-Boat Ace. During March 1941, he was captured and was imprisoned until December 1949.  Photograph 3.25”x5” of Kretchmer which appears he is receiving a bouquet of flowers.  A beautiful signature of the left white margin.
