O’DOUL, Lefty (1887-12/07/1969) American baseball player, known as a pitcher and one of the game’s best top hitters. He is a baseball legend and coach. He won two batting titles and hit .349 lifetime. He is the fourth highest all-time behind only Cobb, Hornsby, and Joe Jackson. His first game was on April 29/1919 and his last Sept.30/1934. He played with the 1919, 20 & 22 N.Y. Yankees and the 1923 Red Sox and with the Dodgers and Giants. O’Doul made more than 20 trips to Japan as a player, coach, and advisor. He was elected to the Japanese Hall of Fame in 2022. Very scarce 8”x10” photograph, full length in uniform ready to swing his bat. Beautifully and very boldly inscribed, signed and dated (just four months before his passing) “To Tim Hall Every best wish From ‘Lefty’ O’Doul 8/6/69.” A few minor creases otherwise in very good condition.
