O’DOUL, Lefty (1887-12/07/1969) American baseball player, known as a pitcher and one of the game’s best top hitters. He is a baseball legend and coach. He won two batting titles and hit .349 lifetime. He is the fourth highest all-time behind only Cobb, Hornsby, and Joe Jackson. His first game was on April 29/1919 and his last Sept.30/1934. He played with the 1919, 20 & 22 N.Y. Yankees and the 1923 Red Sox and with the Dodgers and Giants. O’Doul made more than 20 trips to Japan as a player, coach, and advisor.
