NOVA, Lou (1913-1991). American professional boxer, former Olympic Champion and actor. Heavyweight, noted for his “Cosmic Punch” he was undefeated in his first 22 professional boxing matches. He knocked out Max Baer twice and he fought Joe Louis. Nova appeared in 20 movies and was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame (1991). Very uncommon World Wide Photo, 7”x9” B&W, Pompton Lakes, N.J.. Nova completed his training here today (Sept.27) for his title bout with World’s Heavyweight Boxing Champ Joe Louis at the Polo Grounds....9/27/41” Half length pose smiling, inscribed , signed and dated on the lower margin: “9/29/73 To Bill your Pal-Lou Nova.” In very good condition.
