Take Me Out To The Ball Game – Signed
NORWORTH, Jack (1879-1959). Songwriter. Singer and vaudeville performer. In 1908 while riding on the New York Subway he wrote the classic song “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” on a scrap of paper. He gave the paper to Albert von Tilzer who composed the music. A hit song and baseball’s National Anthem was born. The song is sung during the 7th inning stretch at nearly every ball park. Norworth wrote over 2,500 songs including “Ain’t We Got Fun” and the huge hit “Shine On Harvest Moon”. Norworth was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. When Norworth attended his first Major League Baseball Game on June 27, 1940, the league presented him with a Gold Lifetime Ballpark Pass. A large slip 5.5”x7” with the words to “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” typed on it. Boldly signed by Jack Norworth. In excellent condition and very scarce as such............$575.00
