MUSSOLINI, Benito (1883-1945). Italian dictator; collaborated with Hitler of Germany and Franco of Spain. Leader of the Italian Fascists, known as “Il Duce”. He was shot and murdered by Italian partisans on April 28, 1945 when trying to leave the country.
EMANUELE III, Vittorio (1869-1947). King of Italy and Emperor of conquered Ethiopia. After Mussolini suffered a number of military defeats, it was King Emanuele who dismissed Mussolini on July 25, 1943. Partly printed document signed “Mussolini” as Minister of war, in Italian, one full page, small folio, Rome, September 30, 1926. Not translated. Printed heading bears the huge name of the King and his titles. Boldly signed by Vittorio Emanuele with a huge signature nearly seven inches long. Countersigned by Mussolini. Several dockets and signatures of two secretaries. Together with a portrait of King Vittorio Emanuele and Mussolini, both in uniform, shaking hands. In fine condition.................SOLD
