Famous Dance Instructors

MURRAY, Arthur (1907-1999). He began teaching dance in 1912. He sold dance lessons by mail that used the now famous Arthur Murray footsteps. Arthur Murray instructors were available at all Statler Hotels. By 1946 there were 72 studios. During the 1950’s Arthur and Kathryn Murry began a television series. It was a highly popular show that ran for 12 years.
MURRAY, Kathryn (1895-1991). Married to Arthur Murray in 1925. Card measuring appx. 3”x5” inscribed, with a four word sentient and signed by Kathryn Murray. She has drawn a smiling face. Arthur Murray has signed his name directly below. A fine and uncommon pair of signatures...........................SOLD
