Fabulous Sylvia Miles Collection
MILES, Sylvia (1932- ). American Actress in over 30 movies, nominated for Best Supporting Actress in 1970 (Cass in Midnight Cowboy) and in 1976 (Mrs. Lorian in Farewell My Lovely). Miles made her TV debut as a comedy review performer in 1950 on a Bob Hope TV show. Black & White photograph, 8”x10” bust pose, smiling. Inscribed, signed and dated: “11/86 To Bob Fondly Sylvia Miles”. Wonderful folding card with a color portrait of Miles from Evil Under The Sun from a novel by Agatha Christie. Lengthy autograph letter signed 2 full pages dated 11.20/86 to Bob. Miles writes in part: “...you’re a real terrific fan & have always been so nice to me- So a really big thanks- you know now that the red ones’ are gone-but! Here are the ‘pink ones’ from ‘Farewell My Lovely’, which I wore under the maribou satin kimono with Mitchum... 2nd scene. So I got 2 pics’ coming out real soon- ‘Sleeping Beauty’ I shot in Israel for Cannon, I play the ‘Evil fairy of Red’, & ‘Critical Condition’, the new Richard Pryor film opening Jan. 16, 1987- for Paramount......Thanks again I shall put the $50 to use for my favorite charity ME...Sylvia Miles.”
The third item is her original pink panties inscribed: “Robert Orth with Love! 11/86 From ‘Farewell My Lovely’ Nominated 1975 Best Supporting Actress, Sylvia Miles.” Comes wrapped in purple gift wrapping paper with two pink lip prints on paper attached.
