Scarce Set of Signed Executive Mansion Cards
McKINLEY, William (1843-1901). 25th President of the United States. Assassinated six months into his second term.
McKINLEY, Ida (1847-1907). Wife of the 25th President of the United States. First Lady 1897-1901. She lived through her only brother’s murder. She did not attend her husband’s funeral.
Pair of Executive Mansion Cards signed. William McKinley’s card has light scattered foxing and light remnants of tape removal in two places, top third and bottom margin of card, not affecting his bold signature.
Ida McKinley’s signature is fine. The card has a minor trace of an impression of a paper clip. Dated on the back, in pencil is Nov.11,1900. Executive Mansion Cards signed by Ida McKinley can be considered very scarce. It was recently discovered that many of Ida McKinley’s signatures on these cards were signed for her by William McKinley. It is estimated that only a dozen of genuine signed Ida McKinley cards exist. Before this was known the Sanders Price Guide lists the value of her signed Executive Mansion Cards range in price from $900 to $1800.00. Price for our pair of cards............SOLD
