Father of the Italian Republic

MAZZINI, Giuseppe  (1805-1872).  Italian patriot, with Cavour and Garibaldi he accomplished the unification of Italy.  He organized the Secret Revolutionary Society in 1832 known as Young Italy. He was exiled for revolutionary activities and imprisoned for six months but released after he pledged to leave Italy. His portrait is depicted on many postage stamps. His signature with a one-word sentiment and partial date in his hand. A very desirable autograph..........$150.00
