Rare typed letter signed, August 5, 1996 to Special Agent C. Tigh. Manson writes: “During an investigation into alleged illegal business activities conducted by you at the California State prison-Corcoran in Approximately April 1995, a guitar was confiscated from my property. Upon being released from Administrative Segregation this year, I contacted Captain T.D. Pruitt, Investigative Services Unit, CSP-Corcoran, regarding the return of the guitar to me. On July 11, 1996, Captain Pruitt advised me in writing that you had taken possession of the guitar. Copy service is not available to me in order to provide you with a copy of Captain Pruitt’s memorandum, but I note that he copied the memorandum to you. The purpose of this missive is to determine your intent with regard to the guitar. I wish to either have the guitar returned to me here at the institution or make arrangements to have the guitar shipped to an address of my choice. Please advise at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter..” Boldly signed in full Charles M Manson.
