Very Scarce Charles Manson Check made out to “The Church of Christ”

MANSON, Charles (1934-2017).  Drifter whose “family” committed the infamous Sharon Tate/LaBianca murders in 1969. Two of his followers Sarah Jane Moore and Lynette Fromme were imprisoned for the attempted assassination of President Gerald R. Ford.  The book “Helter Skelter” is the true story of the Manson murders.  At the time of Manson’s death he was worth $400,000.  Manson sometimes described himself as the “Second Coming of Christ.”  Check on Charles Manson account dated August 22, 1969 (the month and year of the Hollywood murders) made payable to “The Church of Christ” for One Million Dollars.  Check accomplished by the hand of Manson and boldly signed with his signature Charles Manson. He has incorporated a swastika in his signature.  Very interesting association . Manson checks are heavily documented with bank statements, photographs, recorded phone calls with Manson himself etc which was heard on voice machines from the California prison. According to a source, Manson filled out these checks for attorney Stan Bowman who brought them into the prison and took them out from his briefcase. Also according to the source, the atty's briefcase cannot be checked unless going off in the metal detector due to atty/client privileges. Manson later bragged about having a checking account to other prisoners and was thrown into solitary confinement for six months and the FBI shut down the bank account. Some of the checks, are filled out and signed to Manson himself and were obviously never cashed. Those close to Manson know about the checks but feel he wasn’t paid appropriately for doing this. However, the original source, Steve Drasil has since passed away and his friend offered them to a dealer claiming compensation was since made. These details, although interesting are being shared simply because there is current articles in the press claiming Manson has a memorabilia business behind bars. In mint condition................SOLD
