LOVELL, Jim (1928- ) American astronaut, pilot of the ill fated Apollo 13 moon mission wo brought the crippled vehicle back to earth. Apollo 13 was made into a major motion picture. Lovell is best remembered for his statement: “Houston, we’ve got a problem.” His book: Lost Moon, Houghton Mifflin Co., 1994, 5th printing.
