Changed Her Name To Frank Leslie
SQUIER, Miriam Folling (1836-1914). Wife of Frank Leslie Frank Leslie was known for establishing Frank Leslie’s Illustrated Newspaper (1855-1922). He died in 1880 and his will was contested. Mrs. Leslie took the business in hand and went so far to legally change her name to Frank Leslie in 1881. Autograph letter signed one and a half pages on the imprinted letterhead of Frank Leslie’s Publishing House. He writes in part: “I am off to Europe for a month next Wednesday but I hope to welcome you early in the autumn to my house or my new offices. Signed “Sincerely yours, Frank Leslie.” In near fine condition..............................$95.00
