LEOPOLD III OF BELGIUM (1901-1983) King of Belgium (1934-1951). During the invasion of Belgium he became a Nazi prisoner of war. Abdicated in 1951. HER ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCESS LILIANE OF BELGIUM (1916-2002). Second wife of King Leopold. During WWII when Allied armies landed in France in 1944, King Leopold was deported to Germany on orders of H. Himmler. The next day Princess Liliane was led to Germany by car guarded by an escort of 200 armed Waffen SS. Official card of the King with a printed King’s Crown, Domaine d’Argenteuil. Signed and date by Leopold “1970”. Short typed biography of the King at the bottom of the card. Together with a photograph of Princess Liliane, B&W, 5”x7”, three quarter length pose, inscribed, signed and dated “1971”. Bottom margin trimmed otherwise both items in fine condition............SOLD
