LEIGHTON, Frederic (1830-1896) British painter and sculptor. President of the British Royal Academy. Autograph letter signed, 2 pages, most likely to a German Prince. Leighton writes: “Sir, Wednesday the 30th inst is the evening set aside by the Royal Academy for their annual soiree – the council of that body shall feel highly gratified if your Serene Highness honours us by being present on that occasion. I am, Sir, Your Serene Highness obedient servant, Frederic Leighton.” Very minor scattered, light discoloration on first page, mentioned for accuracy otherwise a very good, interesting example......................$150.00
