Oley Kohlman’s First Book
KOHLMAN, Leo J. “Oley”. (1911-2008). A Colorado western character who knows his way around liquor. His first book along with cartoonist/illustrator Jerry Palen. Moonshiners, Bootleggers, and some Prohibition. Pioneer Printing, Cheyenne, Wyoming 1982, First edition, paperback. Sixty-six pages, heavily illustrated. The title page is inscribed and signed by Oley: “To: Barb, hope your thrill head down wind and down sloop. Good Luck Oley Kohlman 2-9-89.” The facing page is the inside cover where the illustrator has drawn the head of a cowboy, signed Jerry Palen. In V/G. condition and a scarce title...............$35.00
