KIPLING, Rudyard  (1865-1936).  English writer. Recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature (1907).  Typed letter signed, one page, Bateman’s Burwash Sussex, Nov. 16, 1908. To H. Allingham Esq.  Kipling writes: “I have to acknowledge your letter of Nov. 10 with the book, for which please accept my best thanks.  I am afraid however that I am inno sense a critic, and therefore cannot offer any opinion on the work.”  Signed in full.  Kipling writes the word “Private” near the top left corner of the letter.
