KEVORKIAN, Dr. Jack (1928-2011). Medical pathologist, painter, author, and composer. He championed a terminal patient’s right to die via physician assisted suicide. He assisted 130 patients. In 1999, he was arrested and convicted of second-degree murder. He served 8 years of his 10–25-year sentence. The media portrayed him as “Dr. Death” while many others considered him a hero.
