KELLY, Walt (1913-1973) American animator and cartoonist. Best known for his comic strip Pogo. He began his animation career at Walt Disney Studios in 1936. He contributed to Pinocchio. Fantasia and Dumbo. Later he created Pogo while working at Dell Comics. Check accomplished all in the hand of Kelly. 1936, Chase Manhattan Bank 39 & Morison, made out to Cash for $50 and signed Walt Kelly.
