KAHANE, Rabbi Meir (1932-1990). American born Rabbi. Founder of the Jewish Defense League. A volatile figure who had been expelled from the Israeli Knesset in the mid 1980’s. He maintained that the majority of Arabs living in Israel are enemies of the Jews. He believed non Jews have no voting rights. He was assassinated at the New York Marriott Hotel.
